Scrutiny committees
Scrutiny committees monitor the work of Shropshire Council and investigate specific issues to make recommendations on the way that services are provided.
Shropshire Council's five scrutiny committees are:
- Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Committee
- Children and Young Persons Service Scrutiny Committee
- Community Services Scrutiny Committee
- Development Services Scrutiny Committee
- Health Overview and Crime Reduction Scrutiny Committee
The key roles of the committees include:
- holding the cabinet to account for the decisions that it makes
- scrutinising the quality and performance of services
- reviewing council policy.
